OUTDOOR CLASSROOM

UPDATE

Work continues on this exciting new are of our woodland.

The floor of the outdoor classroom is almost complete and work has started on the roof.

Fencing continues at at pace that and the chainsaw mill is working hard to keep up with the demand for materials.

We are proud to be a provider of the John Muir Award and since our involvement have ran several awads for a variety of clients.

Greenwoodworking

Following Paul’s succesful completion of an NCFE CErtificate in Greenwoodworking through Houghall College we are busy desigining and constructing an outdoor classroom area to enable us to deliver bespoke greenwoodworking activiities to out customers.

The area is being bulit using a mix of ancient and modern methods utilising trees which have been felled to create it. The trees are being processed on site using our Logosol Chainsaw mill..

Construction began earlier this year and is expected to be completed by the end of next year.

We have been helped by several organizations who have felled and cleared trees, constructed shelters and fenced off areas as part of the John Muir Award.

Once complete this area of our woodland will allow us to provide several activities including:-

Charcoal making

Wood turning using traditional pole lathes

woodworking using traditional tools and shave horses

Basketry and willow work

Carving, Bowls and spoons
